Wow! 45 years—a lot has happened since those days in Camp Hill. Since I will miss our reunion and not be able to catch up in-person, here’s a brief summary of the highlights of my post-high school life:

After European adventures and graduating from Penn State with a degree in art education in 1976, I moved to San Francisco. I met my husband, artist and illustrator Leonard Filgate a year later. Over the next 20 plus years, I did graphic design, worked as a cocktail waitress, worked at the de Young Museum, worked with licensed products (including Snoopy), wrote stories, agented my husband’s work, worked as a paralegal, had a child, taught art, and started a book and art publishing company. When our daughter was about to start high school, we moved to Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA—we had an art gallery there. I wrote children’s books and my husband illustrated them. Our publishing company took off and we traveled all over the US and Europe doing book and art events—an exciting time and opportunities to work with and meet an amazing assortment of people from all over the world. We moved to Fresno, CA in 2005 because we found a really cool Spanish-style 1938 home with lots of character. Then the 2008 crash and I ended up back in the museum world—been Education Director at the Fresno Art Museum for the past six years. Leonard still creates art and we just started another publishing company doing bilingual English/Spanish books. Our 32-year old daughter is involved in the business side of the music industry and is still living in Fresno, and fortunately, we get to see her and her live-in boyfriend often. We shall see where our next adventure takes us...
